This blog is about baking, cooking, living abroad, and living life in general. Charlando means “chatting” or “gabbing” in Spanish. I don’t have all the answers. But I want them. And I think talking about it is a good way to get there.
From July through December of 2012, I studied abroad in Santiago, Chile. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and the fastest five months of my life. You can find tales of my major travels on the Chile page, and the everyday stuff in the archives (from July through December, of course).
I returned to Santiago from May through July of 2013 for an internship with an NGO. That was the second chapter of my Chilean story. You will find stories about how things were the same…and how they were sometimes very different.
I currently work as a fundraising consultant in the Central United States, with a home base in Chicago.
It’s a mishmash of subjects, and it’s also an experiment in writing. Comments, even just to say that you’ve read something, are appreciated. Suggestions and constructive criticism would be even more helpful.
